Daycare description / philosophy

Raising Stars Preschool is located at the bottom of East Hill in Vernon, BC. Raising Stars enrolls children aged 30 months-5 years (30-month-olds must turn 3 by December 31st of the enrollment year). We accept families and children of any religious background, family history, special needs, or other barriers that may be present. Based out of a house converted into a Preschool and childcare facility (we are NOT a home base; no one lives here), we have an environment that feels like a home away from home and comfortable for your child! Voted as the best childcare option in Vernon in the Vernon Best of the Best award of 2023! Following a developmentally appropriate approach to Early Childhood Education, Raising Stars is dedicated to making your child's first school experiences positive and meaningful! We follow the BC Early Learning Framework and are a Reggio Emilia-inspired school. We are a proud member of the North American Reggio Emilia Alliance. All educational topics are created from the children's interests, so children who attend for several years are never bored and are always learning something new! We have part-day and full-day childcare options. The best part is that ALL children participate in Preschool, regardless of whether they attend part-day or full-day! Our PRESCHOOL-ONLY program has a set pick-up time of 12:30 pm. Our PRESCHOOL+CHILDCARE program has flexible pick-up times between 12:30-6:00 pm! 1:5 Teacher to Child Ratio With two Educators per classroom, your child will build a stronger connection with educators. Our Teacher-to-child ratio is 1:5 in Preschool and 1:6 in Childcare!
